week 1 of winter quarter 2010!!

so i finished my first week of winter quarter 2010. its nothing special cuz its just classes. but my schedule isnt that bad. my schedule is...

mondays/wednesdays: 1-2:05pm chinese 271, 2-3:50pm HRT 101

tuesdays/thursdays: 10-11:50am GEO 101, 3-4:50pm EWS 301

fridays: 1-2:05pm chinese 271

but during the week, i also did some other stuff. on thursday, i hung out with my friends because i havent seen them in a long time. we met last year in the dorms. we lived on the same floor and hung out pretty often, so we try to keep seeing each other once in awhile. then that night, i got asked really last minute to go see mary poppins on boardway. it was really good. i already love going to musicals.

on friday, i went to the CPP basketball games. we were playing against Sonoma state. both the guys and girls won. i only really stay to watch the girls game because my friend is on the team and we've been friends since elementary. and its so cool to be going to the same college as each other and seeing her play for a college sports team is pretty exciting cuz i can always say that i know someone on the team. =)

on saturday, angeline and i took the bus out to go shopping. we went to puente hills mall. when we got there, we decided to watch a movie first. we ended up seeing alvin and the chipmunks. it was a really cute movie. then we went shopping. then we caught the bus back towards school, but we went to a tofu house to eat dinner. it was pretty good. i thought it was a pretty eventful day! well, this was my week and i cant wait till this coming week cuz i get to go home!!! =)

happy 2010!!!

hey! i cant believe that its a new year already. time just flies by so fast. i just wanted to wish everybody a happy new year! but first, lets recap on what happened during the year of 2009, shall we?!?

JANUARY-

9th-11th: my unity girls came down to socal. this was an awesome trip that will never be forgotten. we went to disneyland and spent the whole day there. and then we went shopping the next day

23rd-24th: i went to ucla to visit a couple of my friends. it was cool being off of my own campus and hanging out with my friends.

FEBRUARY-

15th: so i have a old classmate from elementary/middle school who goes to pomona college, which is really close to CPP. so her family came down that weekend and they picked me up and we went to disneyland. i spent the whole day with them.

19th-22nd: i got to go home for the weekend since it was president days weekend. i believe when i came home, i baked with kim yee and carina ip like always. it was so much fun baking.

MARCH-

1st: I ended up going to disneyland with some friends

7th-8th: I went to irvine to visit some friends. it was pretty fun.

11th: I TURNED 19!!! i also went to disneyland, and i got to go for free since it was my birthday. i wish i could have gone the whole day, but i still had class...

16th, 19th: i had finals. finals are never fun because you spend so much time studying...but then on the last day of finals, i got to go home for spring break!!

20th: the day i got back, i went to house of prime rib with my family and cousins. it was so good to have real food again.

21st: i hung out with some friends in the city. i think we drank. but i cant really remember since its been kinda awhile. 

25th: i went to visit AFY with rosslyn. that was the first time i've been there in a really long time. it was cool visiting the teachers.

26th: i met people downtown before going to visit Gal. whenever i visit gal, i only visit certain teachers and then go to the counseling office. lol

27th: i hung out with an friend that i only met when he was a freshmen in high school. im only 2 years older than him but we get along really well.

APRIL-

3rd-5th: i went to uci again.

8th: we had an urban showcase at CPP where there were different performances, like dance groups or singers. cathy ngyuen (youtube star) sang and far east movement was there. that was pretty cool.

30th: there was an etiquette dinner at RKR. i actually learned a lot which was pretty cool.

MAY-

1st: i got to go HOME!! but when i got home, i had to go to cameron house for an interview for the summer

2nd: it was cameron carnival!! it was a lot of fun. i was there pretty much the whole day. but it was weird for not being part of it and just going there. it just felt a little different. but it was a lot of fun just seeing people. i then had an interview at a restaurant in the north beach area called house,

15th,19th: i did this mary kay thing with this girl that lived in my building. it was cool to learn more about make-up and what not.

JUNE- 

6th: i had dinner with my roommates. this was the last time that we were gonna be able to hang out cuz then we were gonna have finals then we have to move out.

8th,9th: i only had 2 finals, which was pretty lucky.

12th: i moved out and then drove back up with my dad.

13th: as i got back, i had to go to cameron house for mass training, since i was site supervisor at covenant. after mass training, i went to vince's graduation bbq. 

15th-19th: this whole week was training for the summer programs.

17th,18th: i had my internship at the restaurant, house.

19th, 20th, 22nd: i had my driving lessons.

22nd: it was the first day of camp and thats when everybody has different feelings about it.

24th,25th: internship at the restaurant, house.

25th: it was fellowship at cameron house for the volunteers and the staff.

JULY-

1st,2nd: internship at the restaurant, house

6th: i had a scram week meeting since i was a coordinator for the 1st/2nd/3rd grade department. but it wasnt that bad cuz it was only a week.

8th,9th: internship at the restaurant, house, but i had no idea that this was going to be my last week interning there...

11th: we had scram week training for the the leaders that decided to volunteer for scram week, besides volunteering for the regular summer programs. 

13th-17th: SCRAM WEEK!!!

16th: we had fellowship for the scram week leaders. since it wasnt a big group, we went to malibu for mini golfing and whatever they have there.

17th: that night, after a long week of being a coordinator and being tired every single day, i went clubbing with unity!

23rd: we had a debrief meeting for the scram week staff over dim sum.

24th: alex choy and i helped teach hip hop to a department in solid ground. then that night, there was a unity party at gars house, which was A LOT OF FUN!!! 

28th: we had to teach hip hop to another group again.

31st: i hung out with robert lim again. we always try to hang out sometime cuz im away for school.

AUGUST-

5th,6th: i had another review driving lesson then i took my drivers test and i passed!

7th: last day of camp

8th: it was mass clean up, which is where the volunteers and summer staff come to cameron house and to help clean all of cameron house. every department is assigned to a certain task and they have to finish it.

9th: it was summer service. this is a celebration of the summer and to let the volunteers and summer staff have fun being together.

11th: a little party at katis house. but before that, i had a WEST meeting because i was going to be a cabin leader at west.

16th-21st: WEST!!! =)

27th: unity dinner with vince and taryn. we ate at the delancey street restaurant. then we went to sing karoke. 

28th: i then became a "club leader". so basically whenever i come back, i'll go and help.

SEPTEMBER-

2nd: i had dessert with jeffrey go!

3rd: i had lunch with family friends. we went to a shabu place which was pretty good.

4th: club night! then i hung out with the club leaders. they are really fun to hang around. 

5th: we went to fremont for a friends 50th birthday thing.

6th: it was another family friends 50th birthday thing. then i hung out with casey, jeff and riley.

7th: i hung out with kim yee and carina ip, like we always do.

9th: it was gal day with CH people. this is a new thing that the youth ministries at cameron house is trying to do. so this was the first one and i got to help since im a galileo alumni. its where we just brought pizza for the kids who go to gal and who are part of cameron house.

11th: this was my last club night until whenever i come back

14th,15th: i got to go to the giants game! both games were pretty exciting.

16h: i hung out with dianna lau. we went and watch a movie. i think we saw the 500 days of summer, that was a pretty good movie.

17th: i had dim sum with gal people then that night, i hung out with unity before everybodys going back to school. 

18th: i hung out with robert lim again

20th: i hung out with gar, carina and riley before back to school.

22nd-23rd: we then drove down so i can move in and get ready for school.

24th: school started and i couldnt believe that i was going to be a second year in college. time flies by so fast.

25th: i went to the LA county fair

29th: it was an annual hot dog caper at CPP

OCTOBER-

2nd: EPIC bonfire at corona del mar

4th: hung out with ashley and angeline

9th: lunch at din tai fung

10th: movies/lunch with ashley and angeline

13th: we had an Alpha Phi Omega meeting since we're trying to recharter one at CPP

16th: we then had a sophomore epic hang out.

24th: i went down to SD for a APhiO event. it was a lot of fun!

27th: i hung out with rosslyn because we havent seen each other in a really long time.

28th: i went to knotts scary farm with ashley and angeline. it was pretty scary. i dont think i'll ever go back.

31st: this was the first time ever taking the bus around. angeline and i took a bus to west covina and we went to the mall and went shopping. it was quite an adventure!

NOVEMBER-

3rd: another APhiO meeting

26th-29th: THANKSGIVING BREAK!!!

27th: it was coffee house at cameron house. first, as a commission, we went and ate dinner at gordons family's place then we all headed up together. that was the day we found out that one of our club leaders got engaged!

DECEMBER-

7th: i had all 3 finals on 1 day. it was a pretty tiring day. but i was just glad that i got all my finals done and over with. 

9th: i drove back home with austin.

11th: i went to club and hung out with the 8th graders. then us club leaders had fellowship when club was over. we played white elephant and i ended up getting a pillow that says "cameron house youth ministries, friday night club" and an air mattress. it was a lot of fun.

18th: i went to club again. i was with the 6th & 7th grade girls. then for the leaders fellowship, we played games inside. it was pretty fun!

22nd,23rd: i now have another type of internship. my mom got it for me because the people that im helping, their child goes to my moms preschool. so her thing is basically a baking thing. they are called tiny treats. their stuff is pretty good too. and its a lot of fun.

25th: CHRISTMAS!!! i got a lot of cool stuff. 

26th: we had a family friends thing at someone's house. its always fun with the families! =)

27th: we had a "cousins" dinner before everybody gets busy. then i hung out with unity people as always.

28th: i had a birthday thing to go to. it was aaron's 20th birthday and we went to buca for dinner. then we went to polly anns for dessert and then back to erin dong's house. it was a fun night.

29th: we had a gal girls dinner thing. it was me, alex choy, dianna lau, erin dong, rachel lee, and sam mok. we went to the cheesecake factory in the macy's downtown. it was really nice. we all got dressed up and exchanged christmas presents. its was a fun night.

31st: went to a friends house party for new years eve. now that was a lot of fun.

now that the new year is starting, i hope everything goes good and for me to enjoy my days left of being a teen. because before you know it, i'm going to be 20! hope this year brings me and all of you joy and happiness!! =) lets welcome 2010!!!

my thanksgiving break

my break started on tuesday 11/24/09 at 5:30 in the morning. my friend had spent the night because we were going to be driving back to the bay. we left CPP at 5:30am. when we got to the 210, we were stuck in traffic for about 15-20 minutes i wanna say. the whole way back was pretty chill. we only stopped twice and we ended up getting into san francisco at about 12pm. we actually got there in pretty good timing. we then ate lunch at a wonton place. it was so good to eat asian food again. then we went back to her house and then we both fell asleep. my dad then came to pick me up to go home. that night, we met up with her and her family to go eat japanese food. and then i got back home and was able to watch so you think you can dance on TV. and then i fell asleep in my nice big bed!

wednesday 11/25/09, i ended up going to westlake shopping center with the same friend i drove back up with. then we met up with one of our friends and went to serramonte for a little bit. then i got dropped off at my moms work so i can go back home with her. when we got home, we were going out to dinner with my grandparents. then later that night, i had to help my mom prep for thanksgiving dinner because she was a little sick. 

thursday 11/26/09 THANKSGIVING DAY, at around 10:30 in the morning, i got woken up by my parents because we had to get going for lunch. so i got up and took a shower and then left to pick up my grandparents to head to lunch. we were meeting my cousins/aunt and uncle there. we ate dim sum. it was so good because i havent eaten it in a long time. that day, i also wanted to go to a turkey day football game. it was the championships between galileo (my high school) and lincoln. its been like 8 years since my school has been in the championships. but then later that day, i found out from a friend that galileo won 35-0. it was so exciting to hear that. the friend that told me is a senior at lincoln. lol anyways...after lunch, we were going back to my house because we usually have thanksgiving at my house. but before going back, i wanted to get a tapioca/boba drink because i havent had one in awhile. so that night, we had a good thanksgiving dinner at my house. my friend then came by that night to pick me up because a few of our friends were hanging out. we just ended up meeting at a friends house and then going to nations and met up with more people. we just hung around there talking because we havent seen each other since like the summer. i then slept over at a friends house that night because we were going to a dance class the next morning.

friday 11/27/09, i got up at around 8am. ate some leftover thanksgiving food for breakfast. then my friend and i headed off to oakland for a cardio hip hop class that her aunt asked us if we wanted to go. the dance class was pretty fun but tiring. i havent worked out that hard in a long time. then got back in the city and hung out with another friend because the friend that i went to the dance class with ended up getting sick, which sucks. so i then went with my other friend to get her nails done and to go shopping. we then went to a friends house before going to chinatown. we got to cameron house around 5:45pm to meet with our group, UNITY to go eat dinner before going to a cameron house alumni event thats hosted by the seniors, called coffee house. we ate pho at our friends parents restaurant. then headed up to cameron house for coffee house. coffee house happens every year for the alumni's to catch up with their group or others. it was fun seeing everybody again and catching up with them. then my group went out to get tapioca drinks and then went bowling. i ended up going home at around 2 in the morning. but what a fun filled day!

saturday 11/28/09, it was a pretty chill day. i woke up around 10 something in the morning and started on some homework. i then ate lunch with my parents because my brother was out already. it felt good to be alone with my parents. then we went out to run some errands. we were going to have dinner, but then we went to a family friends house because we had to drop something off. and we thought we werent going to stay for a long time, but we did anyways. but then i was also going out again that night, so my friend had to pick me up from their house. got picked up around 9:30pm and headed to century 20 in daly city to watch a movie. there were 5 of us and we were going to watch 2012, but by the time we got there, the time we wanted to see it at was full. so we watch ninja assassin. that was an ok movie. we then went to in n out and then we all went home because the next day we were all going back to school. 

sunday 11/29/09, today was the day i have to go back to school. =/ but i went grocery shopping with my grandparents, then had lunch and then went back home to pack. we then had to head to the airport and my flight was at 3:50pm. i ended up seeing quite a few people i knew at the airport. this was a good break to be back home with the family and seeing my friends. i just cant wait for a week and a half before i go back home for winter break!! im so looking forward to it already! =)

what an adventure!!!

so on saturday, angeline and i were bored on campus. we both dont have a car with us even though i have my license which sucks. anyways, we wanted to go on an adventure somewhere. so we decided to take the foothill transit to the westfield in west covina. we left campus around 11:30am and walked to south campus drive and temple to take the 480 foothill transit...i believe. it didnt take much time for the bus to get there. we then hopped on and it was like a 15 minute ride there. but then we got off and walked around. we then realized that we were lost and couldnt find where we wanted to be. so then since angeline has an iphone, we used her map thing to see where we were and where we wanted to go. so as we were walking around trying to figure out where to go, angeline was looking at her map thing and bumped into a pole. it was pretty hilarious. lol we then found another bus that goes to the westfield. so we got on that bus and it was probably another 10-15 minute or so. as we were going near the mall, we both got excited because we finally made our way there. we then shopped around. i got on t-shirts for myself and my brother, bought a pair of nike dunks and 2 pair of sunglasses. we then went to jamba juice because we havent gone to one in a long time. sat there for awhile to figure out where we wanted to go next. we then got hungry so we went to the elephant bar which was right across the street. after eating an early dinner, we were both stuffed and we waited for the bus to go back to campus. we ended up getting back to campus around 7pm which wasnt a bad time. i thought that we had an interesting and successful day. what an adventure we had especially since we're not from socal.
