relay for life 2010!!!

this past weekend was the relay for life on our campus at cal poly pomona. i've done relay for like for the past 7-8 years back at home in memory of my "sister" who died of cancer at the age of 13. we basically grew up with each other so we acted like we were sisters. so i got the opportunity to participate in this event again, but just at school. i did it with my fraternity, well, we're trying to start it back up at my school. so since we're trying to become another chapter, we decided to do this. i found out that this counts as a fellowship, but then since about 5 of us helped clean up the day after, it gets counted as a service project. it was a lot of fun and we got out name chalked on the ground. and since our group was supporting breast cancer, this is what the chalk art work looked like...

DISNEYLAND with the fam...

so from april 2nd to 6th, my family came down because my brother was on spring break. they drove down friday morning and came and got me when i got out of class. and the puns were there. then we went to lunch and then came back to campus so i can get my stuff packed. we were then off to the hotel in anaheim hills. that night, our parents were meeting up with a old high school friend. so then my, ashlyn and my brother went to islands for dinner. the next morning we woke up and went to disneyland. we went to disneyland on saturday, sunday and monday. i went to all of my classes on monday, then they came and picked me up when i was done, which was like 12:50ish. i love disneyland!! and everything about it. =) it was just an awesome weekend to not have to be at school. i wish it can happen a little more often. tuesday morning, we went to this pancake house that was really really good in anaheim. then we went to downtown disney just to walk around. i decided that i wanted to start collecting something. so the thing that im starting to collect are disney shot glasses. i already have 2 and i cant wait for more. disneyland will never get old... =D

SPRING BREAK 2010!!!

so im right now gonna talk about my spring break which was just last week and i thought it was too short. some of the stuff that i did during break was....

- i was a "club" leader again...everytime im back.
- had dessert with jeff, jeremy, carina and kim
- saw a play at my brother's high school with my family. it was really good.
- ate so much good food, home cooked or whatever. =)
- went and helped out at my mom's pre-school for a day.
- hung out with erin and dianna. went to squat & gobble. sat there for like 3 hours talking and then went to tuttimelon. we totally lost tract of time.
- hung out with carina, jeff, jeremy and kim at her house.
- hung out with whoever else...
- i helped supervise an overnight at cameron house for the club kids that i usually help with when im back.
- i baked/made so many things...almond jello (3 times), brownies (1 time), lemon bars (2 times), and chocolate covered strawberries/bananas/apples (2 times)
- i was suppose to hang out with some other people on my last night, but that didnt happen. but i did get to try a creme brulee from the food cart in SF b/c there was an event where there were so many other food carts and my friend brought it to me. =)

this was about it. for about a weeks worth of break...

sushi anyone?!?

so the day after my birthday, ashlyn stayed and then went back down to SD at night. after my last class of the winter quarter, ashlyn and i went to ontario mills. it wasnt how we expected it because a lot of people told me that ontario mills is really nice. to me, it was just a mall, but it was so big that i got tired really fast. i kinda rather have gone to victoria gardens cuz that outdoor mall is really nice. anyways...after shopping for a little, we went to an all you can eat sushi place. it was pretty good for an all you can eat. between the 2 of us, we ate sooooo much.

my 20th birthday...

this past thursday, march 11th, it was my 20th birthday. it started at 12 midnight when i got text messages from my friends and phone calls from carina and ashlyn. then i feel asleep cuz i had to wake up for class. but then i was woken up by lauren and chelsea, my roommate singing "happy birthday" and holding a cake that lauren made. it was so sweet of them. i had to wake up anyways cuz i had to get ready for class. throughout the day, i was getting text messages and phone calls. ashlyn also came up for my birthday. she got up here at around 3:30pm. and then her, chelsea and me went to the universal studios citywalk. we were there for like an hour and a half or so just walking around the strip and taking pictures. then we went to nickel's cafe because we heard that their red velvet cake was really good. and we wanted to try it. so then we just went there to buy 2 slices of the cake. then there was a cart that was selling different kinds of fries. it was really good. then there was a mexican place that we ate at. we shared 3 dishes. then we headed back to school and dropped chelsea off. then ashlyn and i went to apo apo for dessert. it was an awesome night celebrating my birthday with my best friend and my roommate. i still wish i could be back at home to celebrate my birthday with my family and friends, but i guess i'll be doing that during spring break. =D
